Essilor Optifog Lenses
At Focus Medical Eye Centre in Hailsham, East Sussex, we are an Essilor lens specialist practice. This means that we have access to the very best in lens technology, including the lens system called Optifog®. This is a smart technology lens which combines two layers; an anti-fog top layer and a smart cloth with anti-fog molecules.
It solves the ever-growing problem of having your glasses steam up whilst wearing a mask. We are able to provide you with specialist advice on Optifog® lenses and even fit these new lenses for you.
Optifog® is both a fog-free and clear lens at the same time. Besides repelling fog, it offers protection against reflections, scratches and UV rays. The Optifog Smart Textile cloth has the power to ACTIVATE the top layers of the Optifog lens. It also prevents droplets that would usually inhibit vision spread uniformly across the lens. All in an invisible and fog-free layer.
Whilst these are highly technological lenses, they are still incredibly easy to use. If you have an appointment to come and see us for an eye test, you can enquire with one of our opticians who will be more than happy to go through any questions you might have about these lenses. With our lens fitting service, we’ll also be able to get these lenses fitted to the frames you choose.

Optifog Smart Textile Cloth
The Textile Cloth that accompanies these lenses is simple and easy to use. All you need to do is use the cloth to clean your glasses once a day. This helps to repel small water molecules that are created from breathing. Whilst the cloth is recommended for daily use, it should not be washed. It should also be changed every three months to ensure maintained effectiveness at repelling water molecules.
